Becoming a Member at SPC

  • Like all credit unions, SPC serves what’s called a “field of membership.” Ours includes anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Darlington, Florence, Marlboro, or Chesterfield Counties. SPC also serves employee groups in the Hartsville, Darlington, and Bennettsville area, as well as the employees of Sonoco Products Company and its affiliates throughout the United States. In addition, any person related by blood or marriage to a current SPC member, regardless of employment or residence, may join the credit nion.

    It gets even better! Credit union membership is a lifetime benefit! Once a member, always a member, regardless of employment or life changes. Contact SPC’s Financial Services Department or your employer's HR Department with questions about how you can become a member and benefit from banking that’s Safe. Personal. And Connected.

    You’ll need the following documents to apply for membership online or in person, in addition to a $5 minimum deposit to open your account:
    • Social Security Number
    • Date of Birth
    • Current Physical Address
    • Valid Identification (driver's license or other government-issued form of photo identification)
    • Telephone Number
